WANT: T. Gardner 12 ga Damascus Hammer Gun

I have been looking for a coach gun for my mantel. I think I want one of these: T. Gardner 12 ga Damascus Hammer Gun

--I like the exposed hammers.

Tip: Foregrip on a Saiga 12

I discovered an important dynamic with the Saiga 12. When you add a grip in front you need to keep in mind that the mags actually rock in and out of the mag well. They hook on thr front and then up.

Placement and length of the grip is important so it does not hamper reloads.

Friday Gun Porn: Saiga 12

This is my Saiga 12ga shotgun.

It's a monster. Fully loaded with the drum it weighs a ton. A ton of fun...

Saiga 12

Saw this at theGun Show Today

Winchester SPX Fail

This is why the 4 Rules are so important:

--I hope he get a replacement quickly...

WANT: Six12

I saw the Crye Precision Six12 via Facebook of all things yesterday.

This comes in various configurations but the one I am really interested in is the SBS version that has a grip and is mounted on an AR.

This would be a great door breach tool or just a way to send six rounds of street sweeps down range.

I have not handled one yet and we are still looking at another year before there is even one in the wild.

870 Bullpup

http://www.bullpupunlimited.com/
I'm thinking of converting my Remington 870 to to this Bullpup configuration.

The 870 in my 7th favorite shotgun in my safe. Being number 7 is not a good slot. So that makes it prime for trades or wild modifications.

This specific conversion kit doe not cost overly much at about $350.

I have an upgrade grip, a drop fore grip and a tactical light already and waiting.

Here is a feature list from the website:

Designed to accept a wide variety of aftermarket AR-style accessories
Familiar AR-style grip and safety Split-trigger for increased safety
Variety of rail mounting areas for tactical accessories
Super-smooth and contoured slide release area

Random Thought Tuesday

A friend emailed the pic to the right. I know its silly. I know the ballistics are whacked. I know it's not comfy to shoot. I still want one.

Don't judge me.

My daughter turns 21 years old tomorrow. She wants to go to the range on her Birthday. Then take me to a bar and buy me a drink.

New Chapters will begin.

My sons car is in the shop getting it's windshield replaced. He had his first fender bender last week. We may be car shopping soon. I hate car shopping.

My Christmas shopping is not done yet. My List, for me, is done (See pic).

--Now I need more coffee.

Benelli Shorty

Yet another short shotgun I am lusting after. This one is from Benelli.

--I wonder if they make holsters for it.

Serbu Super Shorty 12 Gauge

As you know. I am a sucker for a short shotgun. This vid also explains why these are defined as an AOW ($5) and not an SBS ($200). If you really like recoil you might need one.

--Only 3 round capacity and a bit expensive for a novelty gun.

Gun Porn: Short Shotgun

I know they are not very useful, but I still love me some short shotguns. One of the basic problems with a short shotgun is their ammo capacity. I saw this puppy on Pinterest.com and thought it would be awesome with a pistol grip!

Mag fed is awesome. I would pistol grip this and add a single point sling and have a pile of fun!

--I have that shoulder stock on another shotgun already!

Rhino Arms: 12 Gauge

This one I find interesting: Rhino Arms 12 Gauge AR

All you have to do is swap out the upper on this Rhino AR10 and toss in a new mag and you have yourself a 12 Gauge AR Shotgun.

I have a Saiga 12 gauge now and I love it. But this rig would allow me to quickly swap out the upper on a .308 AR10 and suddenly I have an AR12. The AR10 takes standard DPMS mags and has five and ten round mags available for 12ga.

Can drums be far behind!

--That is a pile of Rock and Roll right there! Can't wait to find the price!

WANT: Short Stuff

The vid week continues!

If you pumped that slide would the drop handle hit the magazine?

--That would be such a fun, impractical gun!

WANT: Yet Another Short Shotgun

I may have posted this one before.

Very cool and could even live on my mantle on the middle shelf!

--Fun, Short, Over-Under!

WANT: Custom Benelli

I still don't know why I am drawn to impractical, short, shotguns. Especially semi-autos.

Custom Benelli M4 Short Shotgun

Great for home defense! Ask Joe Biden! He is an expert I hear!

--I'll take two please!

Gun Porn

I still don't know why I like short shotguns. They don't hold many rounds. They are a bitch to shoot. They are not accurate at anything but the closest range. But I Love em!

Benelli Short Guys
--I still want it!

Fathers Day at the Range

My son took me to the range for Fathers Day!

We started off with handguns. We took a lot of guns this time never knowing what kind of ammo they might have at Clark Brothers. If you buy ammo there you can use their range for free.

We shot my Glock 21, Glock 17, Beretta Px4 .40 and my Ruger SP101 .357mag.

What is "Low Brass" Ammo?
The second hour we did some Skeet Shooting. I hear it's a popular sport and that the President does it all the time.

I bought a case of clays and 100 rounds of 12 gauge. I had my Benelli and my 870. My son was really bad at skeet the last time we went about a year ago. He hit 1 clay out of 25 last time. This time he hit over 30 out of 50. I shot 47 of 50!

The ammo I bought was the budget 12ga number 7 that was "low brass" $8 a box of 25. The very first round I shot through the Remington 870 jammed it solid. The slide would not move. I was really pissed. I installed the recoil reduction stock on that baby and it is a joy to shoot now.

They have a gunsmith on staff and he cleared it for me. It jammed again on the very next round. He told me that Remington 870s have a problem with the "Low Brass" type of round. The Benelli ate that ammo just fine.

--I confess I have never shot low brass ammo. Not buying that again.

Remington 870 Conversion Kit

Remington 870 Conversion Kit
I love the idea of magazine fed 12 gauge shotguns.

I have a Saiga and I love that.

I saw this conversion kit for a Remington 870 that switched it from tube to magazine. They also have kits for Mossberg 500 series.

It accepts standard Saiga mags, even the big drum mags.

The cost for the kit is $499.

--Might be a fun project in the future. I have a lot of other things I need to spend $500 on though.
