Travel: San Francisco

I'm on business travel this week in California. It's a good trip because I get to see my Brother that lives here. Stay at his house, eat his food and drink his wine!

Here are a few observations so far.
  • Going places and not being able to carry makes me itch.
  • TSA security only took me 10 minutes total.
  • I don't even have one pocket knife.
  • Old school 737 with lots of leg room. No one in the middle seat!
  • No TV. No wifi.
  • I thought the millenials were going to get Kuntzman PTSD.
  • Peopl constantly worry about the fires and Earthquakes.
  • There are Bug out Bags by all the exits in my brothers house.
  • I will never get a good sleep pattern here.
--So there will not be much shooting content this week. Like a lot of weeks.

On Travel

I am on a trip for work this week.

Usually I have a lot of extra time for blogging while I am on the road.

My wife decided to come on this trip as a cheap vacation for her. I am at a conference in Orlando Florida. While I am being slowly murdered by PowerPoint she will be off doing what ever she wants with credit cards and amusement parks.

The biggest problem is that she has a Fitbit and wants to walk me ragged.

Travel

While I am traveling I am enjoying the Kindle book, Terms of Enlistment by Marko Kloos.

I am about half way through and enjoying the hell out of it. I will do a full review when I am done.

Kindle books are great to have handy when you travel. I have access to the books on my iPad as well as my iPhone. It remembers my place as I switch from device to device.

The added bonus is that the books are cheaper and I can easily carry a few hundred with me in my pocket.

--Conference is starting! More coffee!

UPDATE: Finished it during lunch today. Now I want to see the movie!!

Machine Gun Experience

So when I arrived in Vegas I was heading for the car rentals and I saw a huge bill board for opportunities to shoot machine guns.

I called the number and got the run down on the packages. The went from $99 to $1600.

The most popular "Value" Package was $399 witch included 11 machine guns (25 rounds each). $399 for like 30 seconds of fun.

The more expensive packages have private "Helpers".

"If you prefer, sir. You can watch as the helper fires the machine guns."

They do a big business in bachelor and bacheloret parties!  They have a "Private VIP Range". What stays in Vegas...

--Gotta love free enterprise.

On Travel

I am currently in Vegas on a business trip. Posting will be light but here are a few random thoughts.

A friend emailed me this cartoon. TSA is laughable. I was sitting in a dull session at this conference and I was rooting around in my backpack looking for headphones. I didn't find my ear buds but I did find a Swiss Army knife that I missed when I travel sanitized my carry on backpack. It had a corkscrew! Nothing says pocket knife like a corkscrew on an xray.

I went through security at 4am and it was empty. No grope either. I was looking forward to a little action. Fastest walk through Dulles airport ever. TSA was waving me through the whole way. I think I was profiled!

--I like profiling.
