Gun Free Zones

The Chattanooga Shooting was in another Gun Free Zone. Proving once again that Gun Free Zones do not offer any magical protection. The asswipe was a product of Radical Islam. I am glad he's dead. Instead of focusing on why this guy was such an an asshole they will call for more gun control.

--I had to remind someone yesterday that the 9/11 attack was Radical Islam, NOT a domestic Right Wing inside job.

Ottawa Shootings

I really hate the media these days.

For what it does and for what it doesn't do.

They do exactly what these murders want. They want to be famous. I am not going to print the assholes name. I am not even going to link to any story that does.

I believe any media outlet that releases a mass murders name should be heavily fined. The same kind of gag order they have for minors. We would get far less mass murders if we didn't give them what they want.

They are also, once again, going after the gun, not the guy.

What they are also leaving out is that this asshole in Ottawa is yet another radical Muslim. Oh and he was stopped by an old guy with a gun.

--My sincere condolences go out to the victims.

Trying to get organized to go to the annual meeting. I have hotel reservations. I have made arrangements for a media pass. My final step is to find out what the concealed carry regs are in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Facebook and Guns

The social network has been under pressure from the Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Moms Demand Action groups to ban gun-themed fan pages on the site. (no, I won't link to these asshats)

These groups have discovered the best way to limit your Second Amendment Rights is to limit your First Amendment Rights.

These groups do not want you to discuss safety, the fun of shooting, the benefits of protecting yourself, self defense stories or God forbid allow you to legally purchase a firearm.

This would also include activism. Talking about the recent gun bans and confiscation in Venezuela and Ukraine would be included.

--Liberal Fascism is alive and well.

Kids these Days

Did you hear about the kid that refused when a teacher ordered him to take of his shirt? He got suspended and actually got arrested for wearing an NRA T-shirt.

The kid apparently played it very cool and allowed them to take him away.

In one of the best "Fuck You" moves to the liberal fascists, he was cleared and returned to school wearing the very same T-Shirt.

--He and a ton of other kids that were wearing it in solidarity.

I love this daily cartoon, Failure to Fire. It tracks the life of a guy who works in a gun store. It has humor and politics and really crappy, awesome art work!

Media Meatheads

What's Wrong with this Picture?

Here is an example of how the media doesn't fact check even simple things.

Last time I looked that component that is circled is a sling point.

You can see an "Evil Bayonet Lug"!

You can legally buy Grenade Launchers, even the standard 40mm. I want one.

You can get a wide variety of ammo for them. Everything from flares to explosive rounds (avalanche makers), to tear gas, to sandbag thumper less than lethal rounds.

I have also see adapters for Rifle, Handgun and Shotgun rounds. Be careful though if you get one. It makes the device a Short Barrel Shotgun (SBS/AOW).

--Don't try to explain to the media.  They would F it up.

The Squirrel Report

On Fridays, at 9pm Eastern time, there is an Internet radio show called The Squirrel Report.  It has four hosts from the Gun Blogger community but the show is not exclusively about guns. It's not all about squirrels either.

How to describe the Squirrel Report?

It's like we are eaves dropping on a table in a pub, where people are drinking, talking about the weeks chaos, and they have a speaker phone and a chat room that people call in to and swear a lot!

Alan, Breda, JayG, and Weerd are our adventurous hosts.

They usually have a topic of the week but feel no obligation to stick with it. You actually can call in! (214) 530-0036. They’re at least 89% sure the call-in feature will work.

The show is not for those that are easily offended and FOR those easily amused. They will round up the news and culture of the week. What culture remains to be seen. With any luck T-Bolt will call in pretending to be Sean Connery!

This is a well-deserved honor for the hard work and creativity Emily has shown in her hard-hitting “Emily Gets Her Gun” series. The work is a great illustration of our department creed that good opinion writing is based on solid reporting.

It also represents acknowledgement of the first-class journalism all of you do for the TWT opinion pages every day. As evidence of this, Emily’s work beat out competition from The Wall Street Journal and the Seattle Times, two institutions that have received this award before. This is the first time The Washington Times has won this award.

Media Bias

The NRA convention was last week and the media is all over it and not in a good way.

They are going after Ted Nugent, Covering the few protesters and not the 70,000 peaceful attendees.

A perfect example of the media outlet agendas is how NBC is going after Remington with a detailed "news" story that has at it's center a supposed accidental, unattended, discharge of a Remington 870 because it fell over while leaning on a truck.

I have no idea how many Remington 870s are out there. But if there was an issue there would be a long history of it. In stead one case, a guy was stupid and trying to cover it up and NBC runs with it without all the facts.

Go watch the vids for the details. Bad reporting. Classic case of deciding the story then applying facts that fit.

--Not a good way to start the day. Pissed off.

Groupon Listens

Late last week the gun blogging community was all over Groupon for its position regarding Gun related content.

Well they actually listened.

There has already been multiple Groupons that feature guns and shooting sports.

I applaud their choice. Actually it's just good business sense because there are more shooting entheusists in this country now than ever. In fact, Black Friday booked record numbers in gun purchases!
