Ruger LCP with a Crimson Trace LASER
Another items I really liked at the gun show was a Ruger LCP with a Crimson Trace LASER.As you may have already read, I already love the Ruger LCP as a small conceal carry handgun.
Adding this LASER does not detract at all from the feel of this gun. It smoothly goes into your pocket and out of your pocket.
The sight picture was perfect on the one I handled. The red dot was right at the sight point.

Went to the Gun Show!
I took my son to the Nations Gun Show this weekend. It was crowded and all asses and elbows. Parking was a nightmare.I finally found a place where the drinks and snacks were more expensive that my favorite movie theater.
Ammo is back in a big way, all calibers. Even the water tight battle packs I love.
No a lot of new stuff. I did see a few of the MAC-11 carbines that TBolt was talking about. I like the feel of them. Might have to add one to my list.
AR-15s were everywhere and inexpensive. I will probably buy one this fall. I will probably start off with a basic DPMS flat top and trick it out a piece at a time after that.
--And oh. Lots of ladies too...
Spring is not good for my aim...
The range I typically frequent is called Clark Brothers. It's in Northern VA and is very popular. I have taken two classes there. What I like most about it is that the range is out doors. It's free to use, but you have to buy their ammo. The ammo is not to expensive and it's usually plentiful, 'cept lately, but that's another story.Two weeks ago I went to the range to air out some targets with my new matched Px4 - Cx4 pistol/carbine combo.
I sucked.
It was my worst shooting day at the range ever. Not because the guns were not sighted in correctly. Not because of bad technique. Not because of crappy ammo or bad sushi for lunch...
I could not see.
The pollen count topped 5000 that day. My eyes were glazed with a slime of eye-buggers. They itched and burned like wasabi dust had been blown into them by an evil villain.
--Even with my blood running thick with allergy meds I would have been at the mercy of the killer cyborgs if they had come that day...
My Favorite Carry
I carry concealed every chance I get.The method I use most often is the specialized fanny pack.
It's a great rig not for just the concealed handgun. I carry a first aid kit that gets used way too often. I also have a Gerber multi-tool, a compass, Bic lighter, chap stick and Blackberry!
For me it's the perfect camo. Some over weight, middle aged, Hawaiian shirt, baggy shorts wearing, Dad dork.

This weekend, the Nation's Gun Show will be a real blockbuster - in more ways than one. The NRA's National Firearms Museum will be there with several famous firearms that were last seen on the silver screen.
Ever wanted to see that strange silenced Remington shotgun from No Country for Old Men or perhaps a Star Wars blaster? They will be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, along with one of Audie Murphy's Colts, used in several of his cowboy films. Maybe you were hoping for another Murphy - like Eddie Murphy's Browning pistol from Beverly Hills Cop? Hans Gruber's H&K P7 pistol from Die Hard and Ernest Borgnine's Winchester 1897 shotgun from The Wild Bunch will also be featured. You need to come by to see these actual Hollywood treasures in person, direct from film studio collections and prop houses. Remember, these are the actual guns that were used in the movies!

AR-10 Uppers
I am on the hunt for a new upper for my Armalite AR-10. I am doing this for a couple reasons. The upper I currently have is configured with the permanent handle. I am looking for a flat-top so I can bolt on a scope worthy of a .308. Maybe add a quad rail hand guard, tactical lights, lasers and a bottle opener!
--An extra upper will give me a spare parts too.
Checking the Closets
So this last week I was at my wife's fathers house. He's 86.
We were cleaning the house. 60 years of accumulated stuff. Boxes of stuff and papers and clothes. Tools and toys and LPs and Every set of shoes they ever bought.
Plus the forgotten Shotgun.
We were cleaning out a closet looking for paperwork and cleaning in general and there it was. It was a 20ga single barrel shotgun. Cobwebs and dust fill and covered it.
We asked him about it. Forty years before the family dog had badly bitten a neighbors small daughter. On the face.
He went to the local hardware store. Bought the shotgun and five shells. He came home and as the Sheriff watched, loaded the gun and shot the dog.
A few minutes later he cleared the empty shell and put the shotgun in the closet.
There it stayed.
I recommend everyone ask their elderly parents if there are any guns in the house.
--If you don't collect them, at least give them a good cleaning.
A Big List of Gun Manufacturers
Kel-Tec PMR-30
I have a couple Kel-Tec handguns already. The PF-9 is a semi-automatic, locked breech pistol, chambered for the 9mm Luger cartridge.
The P-3AT is a very compact, semi-automatic, locked breech pistol, chambered for the .380 Auto cartridge.
Now I have my eye on the PMR-30. The PMR-30 is a light weight, full size pistol chambered for the flat-shooting .22Magnum cartridge (.22WMR). The PMR-30 operates on a unique hybrid blowback/locked-breech system. This operation system allows for the use of a wide variety of ammunition as it seamlessly adjusts between locked breach and blowback operation, depending on the pressure of the cartridge. It uses a double stack magazine of a new design that holds 30 rounds and fits completely in the grip of the pistol.
--Costs about $300. Cheap enough to risk it!
Beretta Px4 Storm
So The Miller finally purchased a Px4 Storm to go with his Cx4 Storm.I love it.
I have spent years primarily shooting Glocks and before that, my Beretta 96D.
All those have heavy trigger pulls. Double action only with no safety.
The Px4 is single action. It can double action fire the first round and then double for the next 13 rounds. The safety allows me to conceal carry it with one in the pipe more comfortably. The grip profile can be switched out to tailor it to your hand.
--I LOVE the compatibility of mags between the pistol and the carbine.
