Quote of the Week

"What too many of us fail to see, the thing that is slapping us all in the face, is that once you give up any one of your rights, they’re gone. You will not get them back."

-Jennifer Townsend

“Randy is a member in good standing of American society again, having cheerfully endured the process of being ritually goosed by the Government. He feels a strong impulse to drive straight to the nearest gun store and spend about ten thousand dollars. Not that he wants to hurt anyone; it's just that any kind of government authority gives him the creeps now.”

― Neal Stephenson

Sub-Tec AR .45ACP Carbine

Saw this on Facebook yesterday! Can't wait to see the price. Now that I mention it I can't wait to see anything in the gun stores. Anything!

--I really need to get some work done on my JR Carbine.

Suppressed SBR AR-15, EOTech plus 3x (source unknown)
While we are talking about women with guns at work (Lots of female shooters there) we were discussing the various kinds of pics that are out there and they fall into categories.
  1. Real shooters. This is my favorite category. Women that are actual shooters and it shows.
  2. Actress Pretenders. These are the ones that are trying to look fierce but you can just tell they have never shot a gun ever.
  3. Porn with Guns. Sorry guys, do your own Google image searches!
  4. Models with Guns. This is where you can usually find the barrel lickers. Sheesh.
  5. Women in the Military. I like this category too. Professionals of all kinds.
--What other categories would you add?

Px4 .40 +2

One of my daily carry favorites is my Beretta Px4.

It has my favorite feature set, including a $575 retail price, (except the safety switch is opposite my 1911, dammit).

The picture here shows  one of the +2 mags I have. That magazine holds 16 rounds of .40 cal and still rides nice.

My Galco holster is great and I open carry with it like this pretty often. No one ever seems to notice. If I wear one of my Hawaiian shirts It might print a bit but it's fine.

The weird thing is it weighs about the same as my compact 1911 with 7 rounds.

In the winter it's easy conceal carry. I open carry way more in the summer. I need me some summer!

--Come on Spring!

Mark Kelly, No AR for YOU!

The Gun Shop has Rescinded the AR-15 sale to Mark Kelly.

I believe that Kelly was actually buying one for himself when he discovered that he was not as anonymous as he thought.

When the cell phone pictures hit the web he said he wasn't buying it for himself, it was to prove a point. He was going to turn it over to someone else.

I call Bullshit on this.
  1. Mostly because I believe it is a violation of the law to do exactly that. Cops would know that. It would have basically been a straw purchase. Was he providing it for operation Fast and Furious? He's a bit late for that.
  2. Combine that with the fact that he now says he was trying to prove how easy it was to buy an AR-15. If that was true he should have wasted his money on a private, cash and carry, purchase.
  3. If he was trying to prove that point he is a total idiot. He picked a gun with a 20 day hold on it. Seriously.
  4. Why was he trying to prove a point that no one on either side of the issue was questioning?
--Yep. Gotta call Bullshit on that one.

Hot Brass Dance

I think everyone does this dance now and then. I have seen is and done it on many occasions.

This is why I always wear untucked shirts now at the range.

There are lots of reasons I notice women at the range. But every time I see a low cut top or even a V neck T-shirt I cringe a bit inside.

I even saw an excellent cartoon that featured this adventure: Failure to Fire

--So be careful out there. Low cut shirts have their own gravity for hot brass... and eyes.

Quotes of the Week.

“I didn’t fire my gun. I gave it a promotion.”

― Jarod Kintz

“Foolish liberals who are trying to read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution by claiming it's not an individual right or that it's too much of a public safety hazard, don't see the danger in the big picture. They're courting disaster by encouraging others to use the same means to eliminate portions of the Constitution they don't like.”

― Alan M. Dershowitz

“The Second Amendment is timeless for our Founders grasped that self-defense is three-fold: every free individual must protect themselves against the evil will of the man, the mob and the state.”

― Tiffany Madison

“Most gun control arguments miss the point. If all control boils fundamentally to force, how can one resist aggression without equal force? How can a truly “free” state exist if the individual citizen is enslaved to the forceful will of individual or organized aggressors? It cannot.”

― Tiffany Madison

Why the AWB is failing

Here is the biggest reason: FACTS

In 2011 the FBI stats show there were 323 murders committed with rifles of any kind. That's right only 323 ALL YEAR.  See table 8. Tell Joe Biden that more murders were committed with shotguns than rifles.

In fact if you look at Table 11 you can see that more people were murdered with shotguns, hammers or clubs, bare hands and knives than the rifles they are trying to ban. Five times as many murders with knives.

Table 8 also shows the steady decline in murders of all kind. Even though sales of  Military Style rifles have skyrocketed. With tens of millions more ARs and AKs in civillian hand why is violent crime falling?  Even if you don't credit the increase in gun ownership with the drop in violent crime you cannot in anyway say that more guns equals more violence.

But what about Sandy Hook?

--That tragedy is about how our society deals with insane people. All the talk about gun control is taking focus away from Crazy People Control!

My New Safe

Yesterday my new gun safe was delivered.

I had to have this one delivered because it was huge. It weighed 700 lbs empty. It's fire rated and just plan big.

I am really pissed at the delivery company.

You would think that specializing in the delivering the damn things they would have realized that it would be important to their customers to be DISCREET!

These stupid people figured it would be a good idea to unbox it in by driveway by the sidewalk and leave it there, for a half an hour, as all the high school kids got off the damn bus.

It sat out there for over thirty minutes for my neighbors to drive by and have a good look.

I was still fuming when the shipping company called me to review my service.

--To feel better I included in the post a beautiful women with a gun AND knife!

Saw this on the news this morning.

This photo was posted on FaceBook by a proud dad that had given his son a .22 for his 11th Birthday.

Someone called a child abuse hotline that resulted in a visit by four police officers and a rep from child support services.

They demanded to see the safe and all the firearms in the house.

They were told NO. If you do not have a warrant you are not seeing anything. If that is all, please leave.

Well done.

The police even pressured them, "Telling us no is acting suspicious. We can come back with a warrant."

Never allow ANY government officials into your home uninvited if they do not have a warrant. Never allow a search. Be polite. Answer any question with a question.

--They are adversaries not your advocates.

AWB Set Back

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that an assault weapons ban won’t be in the gun-control legislation that Democrats will bring to the Senate floor next month, a decision that means the ban’s chances of survival now are all but hopeless.

The fight has been pruned down so they can have a chance to slide something in.

Don't let up on letter writing. We need to keep the pressure. Do NOT trust these pricks. They are bound and determined to wipe their asses with our Constitution.

Tell your representatives that there will be dire consequences when it comes time for re-election.
--I want the entire thing tossed down as a big Fuck You to Feinstein .

Arcus Arrowstar

The Arcus Arrowstar is not a toy.

This is a CO2 gun that fires small arrows with a high degree of accuracy for shortish range shots.

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

Yes. Those evil squirrels that eat my grill cover are in trouble...

--This could be fun.

Damn Mondays

Running late today.

It's snowing again dammit. Schools are already closed in the county. Traffic will be a joy.

I was going to write up a post on a Ready Belt. A belt based system that is ready and loaded up, just in case. Kind of like a BOB but smaller.  Think of a Batman Utility Belt!

This pic is an example.

What should it have?

Mags, knives, multi-tool, first aid, holster, 3 power bars, radio, flashlight, what else?

I can see a couple D-rings there.

--What else should it have?

Quotes of the Week

"...to disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them."

--George Mason

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms."

--James Madison

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States"

--Noah Webster

Hollow Book Storage

I love hidden storage. I post about it pretty often.

A reader sent me a link to ETSY and this hollow book stash.

This is a really good Do It Yourself project as well.

It does not even cost much to do it. I recommend going to a used book store or even Salvation Army and buy a book for the project.

Make the book a boring title that no one will be interested in browsing. If you plan on storing it in a library, find one with a spine that is easy to spot even in low light. Don't use a children's book! This is not a gun safe, it's a gun stash.

I would also recommend once it is cut out to simply paint the interior with wood glue. It will lock the pages together. Maybe even add a small magnet latch.

--For bonus points use a  Liberal book on gun control!

Lots to Love Here

My Pic of the Week was sent in from a reader that saw it on Pinterest.

Lots of goodness in this pic! She has good trigger discipline, good eye and ear protection, a good vest, and a sense of humor.

Excellent AR15, tricked out to be an Easy Button. Joe Biden does not want women to know how easy and fun these are to shoot.

Shooting in the cold is good practice. Because you never know what the weather will be like when the Zombies come!

--Love all the accessories.

Kids and Bad Mothers

A bunch of Moms marched on Washington again to demand that the Government keep their children safe from "Gun Violence".

I swear these women hate their children.

They want to keep their children ignorant so if they even encounter a real gun they will not be able to tell if it's a toy or a real gun and increasing the likelihood of accidents.

They hate their children so much they don't want them to have safety training.

They hate them so much they want them to be unable to defend themselves against villains.

These Moms hate them so much they want them to live under the threat of tyranny in a police state where only the police and military have guns. Did they ever see Schindler's List?

They don't hate guns. They still want them to be a simple 911 phone call away.

They probably don't teach their kids to swim either.

--Wake up. A good mother will make sure their children have firearms training.

Failure to Fire

I love this daily cartoon, Failure to Fire. It tracks the life of a guy who works in a gun store. It has humor and politics and really crappy, awesome art work!

--Check it out. Great stuff.

Quote of the Week

"Libertarians want to take over the world and leave you alone."

“I've heard it said that God made all men, but Samuel Colt made all men equal.

We'd see what Mr. Colt could do for a woman.”

― Cherie Priest

“When guns are outlawed, only the Government will have guns. The Government - and a few outlaws. If that happens, you can count me among the outlaws.”

― Edward Abbey

"I have a love interest in every one of my films - a gun."

- Arnold Schwarzenegger

"We would just go out and line up a bunch of cans and shoot with rifles, handguns and at times, submachine guns... When I was a kid it was a controlled atmosphere, we weren't shooting at humans... we were shooting at cans and bottles mostly. I will most certainly take my kids out for target practice."

- Johnny Depp

Desk Stash

Here is yet another excellent, hidden, gun, stash, compartment!

In the most recent Hidden posts they have been designed to hide full sized AR-15s.

I believe that when you need a rifle it needs to be damn handy.

I consider the handgun I carry is specifically designed to be just enough firepower to get me to my rifle(s).

This picture shows a nice, Do It Yourself secret compartment. The new drawer sliders that are available at any home center makes an install like this simple.

--I would even go with a keyless system.

Notice the Chain

Since I started posting the Women with Guns series I have been sent this pic on multiple occasions.

I wasn't going to post this one because the stance is sooo bad. That limbo thing drives me crazy. This one is so bad, if you look close, there is a hand reaching in holding her up.

Good things in this one.
  • Muzzle flash is great
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Attractive girl
  • Full auto
  • The Chain
That chain is very interesting. I imagine that it keeps muzzle control much better. It has to stop the recoil rise.

--Lean into it, not from it!

You Know You're a Gun Guy If...

I saw this pic and it cracked me up mostly because it was so true for me.

That pic represents a, not so small, fortune.

I never feel like I have enough ammo.

How would you finish the sentence?

"You Know You're a Gun Guy If _______________."

--"you read more than one gun blog."

Well the world is shut down this morning in Northern VA.

We have a couple inches so far.

All the schools and even the federal government is closed.

I have to much to do to stay home, so after the sun is up I will pile in the car and go do donuts in the office parking lot.

Time to think about the emergency supplies in the BOB I keep in the car.

Holster options in bad weather are important. I like shoulder holsters while in heavy winter coats.

--Need more coffee. Need it bad...

Someone tell Joe Biden

"Katelyn Francis, a 13 year old from Missouri, shooting a full auto ACR, 12 ga Benelli M2 and a S&W M&P 9mm Pro. This is stage 1 of the Fallen Brethren 3Gun in Texas."

--This girl is not Honey Boo Boo...

Might Be Fun

Keep the pics coming! Among the pile of AR15 pics this week was this bad boy!

A friend sent this photo and it looks really interesting. I have never handled one or even seen one in person but an over under short shotgun could be really fun to shoot. It is worthy to note that Short Shotguns Stamps are only $5 for the ATF.

--Joe "Shotgun" Biden Approved.

Quotes of the Week

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

--Bill of Rights

"What part of the phrase 'shall not be infringed.' is difficult for people to undrestand?

--You and people like you

“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.”

― Thomas Jefferson

“Guns are our friends because in a country without guns, I'm what's known as "prey." All females are.”

― Ann Coulter

“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”

― Jeff Cooper, Art of the Rifle

“If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished. We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”

--Sarah Palin

The Asswipe
I was at work and overheard a debate about Gun Control. It was the classic liberal points. Blaming it on the guns. Do it for the children. Muskets vs AR15s and the Second Amendment.

I walked in and asked her, "Why do you think he did it? Why do any of these people do this?"

She replied, "Because they are crazy."

I asked again, "No, why did they do a mass shooting?"

She thought for a minute and answered, "To be famous. To be on TV."

I said, "I think we need a law that to levy heavy fines on any media outlet that releases the name or photograph of a mass killer. I'm talking millions of dollars. Bankrupt CNN size dollars with the proceeds going to victims and/or victims families. Refer to them as The Coward, or as The Bed-wetter. Remove the payoff and stop the behavior."

She protested, "But what about Free Speech? Freedom of the Press?".

"Suddenly the Bill of Rights IS important?", I asked.

--She vapor locked.
