Sons of Guns Cancelled Hard

I was always amazed that the post on this blog that got the all time most hits was: Sons of Guns Season Starts Tonight

That post alone got 28,000 views.

“Sons of Guns” star Will Hayden has been arrested for aggravated, repeated rape, of a minor, according to documents sent to FOX411 by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

The Discovery Channel immediately cancelled his series. “Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of 'Sons of Guns' and cancel the series," the network said in a statement.

I will remind the universe that the accused should be considered innocent until proven guilty. That said, it does not look good for him. I hope it's not true. For the little girls sake.

I confess the show jumped the shark for me a couple seasons ago. Too much drama and not enough guns.

--Well now the Hayden's have more drama than they wished for.

Noir Next Week

I got to talk to Colion for a bit this year at the NRA Annual Meeting. He is a really good guy.

I always think of him when people talk about the NRA as a bunch of old, fat white guys.  He is NONE of those things! What he is, is smart, fun, and full of common sense!

His show is set to start up again next week on September 3rd. The show also has Amy "Not an old, fat white guy" Robbins

--I also always think of the night club Tech Noir on Pico.

The price of Tactical Bacon keeps going up. Increase in demand is to blame!

9-year-old girl accidentally killing the shooting instructor with Uzi.

This is kind of hard to watch.

Warning: This video shows a 9-year-old girl accidentally killing the shooting instructor with Uzi.

-- This should never have happened. For so many reasons.

Unpossible!

HEADLINE:

Chicago crime rate drops as concealed carry applications surge

It is down 20% percent already? Since January?

There are fewer homicides, robberies, burglaries, and car thefts.

As of July 29 the state had 83,183 applications for concealed carry and had issued 68,549 licenses. By the end of the year, estimates, 100,000 Illinois citizens will be packing.

--They said there would be MORE blood in the streets! NOT LESS!

Shaving Gear

One day soon I will find myself a really nice straight razor. But in the mean time I want a shaving brush.

I thing I may have found the one I want! A Six Shooter Shaving Brush!

– Janet Frame

Women and Guns: A 'Great American Tradition'

It's good to see stories like this on the main stream media. I am surprised!

--Education and positive experiences.

Libertarians, John Stossel, and the Over Militariazation of the Police

I believe that the media is complicit in this because it makes for better TV. I swear they way they  cover these stories it is to rile up the riots when they could be bringing reason and calm to the situation.

--As we see more and more of these we need this coverage.

Nice

I found some more good concealed storage solutions on Pinterest!

I want to find a handy solution for storage that is in my living room.

Yesterday, I had to leave early for work because I had a doc appointment in the afternoon. I forgot to set up the coffee timer. I never got ANY coffee all day.

--Remind me never to to that again!

Ferguson, Missouri

The National Guard is descending on Ferguson today.

To be honest, it is not clear to be about who was at fault with this shooting. If I had to guess, based on the information I have, the victim was probably an asshole and the officer was afraid and over militarized.

The media once again is totally responsible for spinning up these people to riot. Riots are better news, don't you know. They keep running photos of that guy when he was 12 years old when the reality was that he was a criminal and a thug.

This entire situation has not been made better with belt fed machine guns and APCs.

AR-15 Build vs Buy

I have done both. The price for my builds are about the same.

--I always seem to upgrade.

Gun Control Capital

At this writing, the evening of August 14th, 21 people have been shot in DC in the last six days.

By the time you read this it may be more.

But that's not possible. Guns are illegal there. You can't carry them there. And you know what else, it's illegal to shoot people too!

In other news, the world seems to have noticed the militarization of law enforcement. They noticed that the Dept of Agriculture, Education, Taxation, Energy and more all somehow now have armies.  Small towns have SWAT teams and armored assault vehicles. Oh and God forbid that citizens have body armor.

I should have stayed on vacation.

--By the way, DC is only 68 square miles. (Thanks, Stretch!)

College

I will have two kids in college in two weeks.

I am very proud of my kids. So much so that my wallet doesn't mind so much.

I was looking at the wide variety of courses available at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) where my son starts soon.

I was surprised to see that NVCC offers Gun Smithing!

Vacation is Over

I had two weeks a day of glorious vacation.

Doing the laundry now I realized that all my clothes smell like wood smoke.

I like it.

On Sunday I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy. My local theater is not a gun free zone. I carried, my friend carried. My daughter didn't.

My daughter turns 21 this winter and she plans on taking some formal training to prep to get her permit.

I have to get back into the swing of the normal routine. Morning blogging with coffee.

--Now the time for traffic! I'm going in!

Last Day of Vacation

Today is my last real day of vacation. Tomorrow we completely breakdown the cam pack everything up and head back home.

After we unload all her year and take the laundry down to the laundry room the very first thing that will happen is a long hot shower.

After tent camping for two solid weeks you can't believe how dirty your feet can get. It rained a few of the days while we were here. It was enough to really generate some classic mud.

I am glad to say I didn't have any Three Stooges style wipeouts in the mud pits. As fun as that would be, I'd rather just watch someone else do it.

--Our regular scheduled programming will begin again on Sunday.

Jim Brady died

Maybe now  we can be real and do what's right without emotional histrionics.

Since the assassination attempt on Ronald Regan where Jim Brady was injured we have learned a lot.

Mostly we have learned that more gun control does not decrease violence. It will in fact increase it.

We have also learned that gun control is about control. It's not about the safety of citizens.

--RIP Jim Brady. We'll handle this.

ARES Defense SCR

I was reading American Rifleman about an AR15 that is legal in all 50 states.

http://www.americanrifleman.org/mobile/blog.php?id=36279&cid=44

It does not have all the features that make AR15's so scary for the uniformed. No pistol grip, bayonet, flash hider or shoulder thing that goes up.

Gun Prosecutions are Dropping

Even though this administration says it's tough on gun crime the stats tell a different story.
