Walking Dead Season 2

The Walking Dead is returning for its second season this October!

The second season will be longer than the first, thank the makers, there will be something that isn't different from the first season: a 90 minute premiere.

In this preview you see why a shotgun is the wrong gun for Zombies!

I absolutely cannot wait. I hope they do two things, 1. have a real gun guy review their stuff because there was some stupid stuff last season and 2. get smart about the continuity of some of the storylines. There were some real bad, amateur level mistakes last season.

45er, part of the "problem" is this is ripped from the pages of a comic...complete with scenes as depicted in the comic. I honestly don't blame the "gun guy" or the writer of the SHOW, because the comic was written this way.

Wow. That reads a lot bitchier than my intention. Sorry if it comes off that way - wasn't the plan at all.

I didn't think so, it sounds absolutely correct. However, one of the parts in particular as an example was when they left the infected guy by the tree after the Winnebago broke down. They have a little talk about fixing it, but they don't have the part and they're in the middle of nowhere. They take the guy up the hill, have a little chat and the next thing you know, they're driving away. That was a WTF moment for us. I actually rewound to see if I'd missed something. Nope. That kind of lack of continuity can make the audience change the channel. If they do something silly like that with a major plot-line, they're going to lose watchers and that will make me almost as angry as Firefly being cancelled.

I agree, to a degree. The internets has been abuzz with people absolutely loving it, and I can hit a few of the big forums I visit regularly and find at least a handful of WD threads on each.

I think they'll be fine if they keep up with the quality of the effects and makeup.

I'm definitely digging it so far. Maybe I'm just bitter from seeing awesome stuff on TV that gets cancelled because they mess up the execution (I'm looking at you, FOX)as soon as I get into it.

I am so psyched for this season. But I hope they keep the quality up, and lose some of the continuity errors, like 45er said.

This show shows guns as being a needed survival tool. We need that to stay on the air- continue the re-normalization of guns in popular culture.

45er - I agree. The key component there is FOX. Since they're not involved, I think we're good. ;)
