New Rilfle

I added a new item to the safe yesterday. A Savage Mark II, with a picitinny top rail, fixed 4x Weaver scope and threaded barrel. The can that fits in my AR15 also fits it! I am taking it to the range today fir its maiden voyage.

Ruger Mark II .22LR

Are you planning a test with subsonic? Bolt action and subsonic might get you close to the mythical "silent" suppressor.

I will test ALL rounds, even .22 Shorts. That is one of the great things about a bold action. No action to cycle.

Well, if you still have this come the next bloggershoot in WBGVA (West By God Virginia)I will try to remember to bring along a brick of 22LR, maybe even sub-sonic if I can dig it out of wherever it is hidden.

All the best,
Glenn B

Will Do!

The web ate my comment when I wrote it earlier... I'll try again.

That looks like a Savage MkII, not a Ruger. ;-)

As to the suppressor ... what can is that, and if you're using it on your AR, is it disassemble-able for cleaning? If not, I'd strongly recommend not using it for .22LR... I know my Sparrow can is full of gunk after a brick of .22, and it takes a couple runs through the bath and a bit of time with brushes to get all the accumulated stuff off.

So how's it shoot? And unless someone else picks up the reins, next WV Blogshoot is probably going to be hosted in Louisiana.
