Px4 .40 +2

One of my daily carry favorites is my Beretta Px4.

It has my favorite feature set, including a $575 retail price, (except the safety switch is opposite my 1911, dammit).

The picture here shows one of the +2 mags I have. That magazine holds 16 rounds of .40 cal and still rides nice.

My Galco holster is great and I open carry with it like this pretty often. No one ever seems to notice. If I wear one of my Hawaiian shirts It might print a bit but it's fine.

The weird thing is it weighs about the same as my compact 1911 with 7 rounds.

In the winter it's easy conceal carry. I open carry way more in the summer. I need me some summer!

Mark Kelly, No AR for YOU!

The Gun Shop has Rescinded the AR-15 sale to Mark Kelly.

I believe that Kelly was actually buying one for himself when he discovered that he was not as anonymous as he thought.

When the cell phone pictures hit the web he said he wasn't buying it for himself, it was to prove a point. He was going to turn it over to someone else.

I call Bullshit on this.

Mostly because I believe it is a violation of the law to do exactly that. Cops would know that. It would have basically been a straw purchase. Was he providing it for operation Fast and Furious? He's a bit late for that.
Combine that with the fact that he now says he was trying to prove how easy it was to buy an AR-15. If that was true he should have wasted his money on a private, cash and carry, purchase.
If he was trying to prove that point he is a total idiot. He picked a gun with a 20 day hold on it. Seriously.
Why was he trying to prove a point that no one on either side of the issue was questioning?

--Yep. Gotta call Bullshit on that one.

Hot Brass Dance

I think everyone does this dance now and then. I have seen is and done it on many occasions.

This is why I always wear untucked shirts now at the range.

There are lots of reasons I notice women at the range. But every time I see a low cut top or even a V neck T-shirt I cringe a bit inside.

I even saw an excellent cartoon that featured this adventure: Failure to Fire

--So be careful out there. Low cut shirts have their own gravity for hot brass... and eyes.

Why the AWB is failing

Here is the biggest reason: FACTS

In 2011 the FBI stats show there were 323 murders committed with rifles of any kind. That's right only 323 ALL YEAR. See table 8. Tell Joe Biden that more murders were committed with shotguns than rifles.

In fact if you look at Table 11 you can see that more people were murdered with shotguns, hammers or clubs, bare hands and knives than the rifles they are trying to ban. Five times as many murders with knives.

Table 8 also shows the steady decline in murders of all kind. Even though sales of Military Style rifles have skyrocketed. With tens of millions more ARs and AKs in civillian hand why is violent crime falling? Even if you don't credit the increase in gun ownership with the drop in violent crime you cannot in anyway say that more guns equals more violence.

But what about Sandy Hook?

--That tragedy is about how our society deals with insane people. All the talk about gun control is taking focus away from Crazy People Control!

My New Safe

Yesterday my new gun safe was delivered.

I had to have this one delivered because it was huge. It weighed 700 lbs empty. It's fire rated and just plan big.

I am really pissed at the delivery company.

You would think that specializing in the delivering the damn things they would have realized that it would be important to their customers to be DISCREET!

These stupid people figured it would be a good idea to unbox it in by driveway by the sidewalk and leave it there, for a half an hour, as all the high school kids got off the damn bus.

It sat out there for over thirty minutes for my neighbors to drive by and have a good look.

I was still fuming when the shipping company called me to review my service.

--To feel better I included in the post a beautiful women with a gun AND knife!

Outragous

Saw this on the news this morning.

This photo was posted on FaceBook by a proud dad that had given his son a .22 for his 11th Birthday.

Someone called a child abuse hotline that resulted in a visit by four police officers and a rep from child support services.

They demanded to see the safe and all the firearms in the house.

Denied.

They were told NO. If you do not have a warrant you are not seeing anything. If that is all, please leave.

Well done.

The police even pressured them, "Telling us no is acting suspicious. We can come back with a warrant."

Never allow ANY government officials into your home uninvited if they do not have a warrant. Never allow a search. Be polite. Answer any question with a question.

--They are adversaries not your advocates.

AWB Set Back

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that an assault weapons ban won’t be in the gun-control legislation that Democrats will bring to the Senate floor next month, a decision that means the ban’s chances of survival now are all but hopeless.

The fight has been pruned down so they can have a chance to slide something in.

Don't let up on letter writing. We need to keep the pressure. Do NOT trust these pricks. They are bound and determined to wipe their asses with our Constitution.

Tell your representatives that there will be dire consequences when it comes time for re-election.

I was going to write up a post on a Ready Belt. A belt based system that is ready and loaded up, just in case. Kind of like a BOB but smaller. Think of a Batman Utility Belt!
