Movie: Blade Runner

Blade Runner is one of my favorite Movies of all time. I saw this in the theater in 1982 and I have owned it on Beta, VHS, Laserdisk, DVD and BluRay.

The Miller Rating = 9 of 10

1 COP 357 Derringer

2 LAPD 2019 blaster

Both of these guns were props made specifically for the movie.

I would love to buy replicas of these babies, just for fun.

Great movie and such a great Drew Struzan poster. I've got the insert sheet hanging in my office. Did you get the last box set with the work print? Nifty.

One of my favorite films, as well.
Wasn't the COP derringer actually in production for a time? 4 barrels in a square? Horrible trigger.
Harrison Ford said he didn't like doing the 'noir' voice over.
I liked Sean Young's hairdo, and the Rutger Hauer speech. He and the director worked it out impromptu!
And don't forget the Blade Runner curse! Most of the businesses advertised in thr future no longer exist: Atari, Pan Am...

Great Movie, and a personal favorite. Yes the COP derringer was a real gun. You see them for sale occasionally. I got to try one once, the worst trigger I’ve ever tried!

Rumor has it that the specific prop is (illegally) Class 3, as it sets off multiple chambers with one trigger pull, so as to increase the muzzle flash.

I read that as well Ian. It turned out to be partly true. It has two barrels to increase the muzzle flash but it has separate triggers for each. It like classic double barrel shotguns with two triggers.

Weird, since the original COP is a 4-barrel pepper box, I thought.

http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Blade_Runner says the weapon was modified to fire two tubes at a time; which makes it an MG by law, unless they rendered it nonfunctional first. And I can't think of how they could have done do and still allowed blanks to fire.
