Mag selection

I love my 300 Blackout. I have found my favorite subsonic ammo. There is one thing I worry about, now that I have had this rig for a while. Feeding it the wrong ammo.

Now to make sure I load the 300BO ammo in only metal mags. It's not that the metal mags function better, look better or feed better.

They look and feel different.

Even in the dark I can tell the difference.

--I love this can. I want them on everything now.

New Addition: KRISS Vector 9mm

I never liked the whole brace concept. SBR paperwork has been filled out. Got to get some passport photos today.

Fun stuff. Another addition to my Scifi collection. (guns that appear in Scifi movies and TV)

Glock 26 Upgrade

I made an upgrade to my Glock 26 that fixed the only issue that bothered me about its ergonomics.

I found a magazine extender. In addition to adding an additional two  rounds, it gives a place for my pinky to rest.

I recommend this simple mod. It was only $10.

--I may also upgrade the slide and mag releases.

My New Daily Carry

Glock 26
I had been shopping around for a new daily carry and finally settled on the Glock 26.

I walked into my favorite shop yesterday and the had the exact model I was looking for.

I love Virginia. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Easy as could be.

I will be getting some of the specialty magazines that give you an extra finger worth a grip.

I also like that it will that the same mags as my Glock 17, even the 33 round versions. Because, you know... Zombies.

--Now to find a nice threaded barrel.

Range Fun

Went to the range on Friday. Had fun with my Suppressed Glock 21 Roni SBR.

--Fun Fun Fun in .45.

Friday Gun Porn: Saiga 12

This is my Saiga 12ga shotgun.

It's a monster. Fully loaded with the drum it weighs a ton. A ton of fun...

Saiga 12

.300 Blackout mags

My current favorite AR-15 is this .300 Blackout SBR, There are many reasons I love this rig.

What I don't love is confusing mags.I did one. Luckly, nothing happened. I marked the mags with some blue masking tape but that not good enough. I was going to buy mags that were a different color but I already have a mountain of mags.

--I decided on paint and a stencil. I am thinking a classic B.

New Rilfle

I added a new item to the safe yesterday. A Savage Mark II, with a picitinny top rail, fixed 4x Weaver scope and threaded barrel. The can that fits in my AR15 also fits it! I am taking it to the range today fir its maiden voyage.

Ruger Mark II .22LR

--Now if .22 ammo would just free up!

Inventory

I was chatting with a shooting buddy yesterday about my suppressed Glock 17 and realized I did not have a photo of it in my inventory file.

I have been such a slacker recently.

I need a new set of photos and features. Because for insurance you need to know all the options as well.

Here is an example in this photo. I spent more cash on the upgrades than on the basic .300 Blackout.

--Need more range time.

Home Defense

Mossberg 500 Pistol
Someone asked me today what I like for home defense.

I have more of a layered home defense plan in my house.

My Ruger SP101 (my wifes favorite)  is just enough to get me to me Mossberg 500 with the Surefire Tactical light.  The Mossberg is just right to get me to my gun-safe and my Armalight AR10.

The Mossberg 500 is a great piece of ass kicking but it is too much for my wife to use (more than one shot anyway). If you have selected one of these, you need to make sure you practice with it.

--This guy will punch you in the face if you use it wrong.

300 Blackout SBR

The 300 Blackout Project is finally complete.

This rig is now tuned up exactly the way I wanted it. The sub-sonic 300 Blackout is the perfect round for suppressing. The huge can does not ruin the balance on this rig and it is so quiet.

Now I need a case or two of ammo.

--Zombies beware.

Updates to a Fav

My suppressed Ruger Mark III may be my favorite fun gun.

I have recently been updating it. There is basically three notable update:

Hogue 82000 Rubber Grip-Ruger

I love the feel of this grip.

Standard Scope Base Rail Black Ruger MKIII

The Weaver base I had on there would not work with the next item.

Trijicon RMR Dual-Illuminated 12.9 MOA Green Triangle Sight

This scope is so sweet on this gun it is amazing! Perfect focus with both eyes open. Great site picture.

--Now if could find a holster...

Glock Tactical Light

I don't know if I have ever blogged about the Glock OEM Tac Light before I should have. I love this light.

"If you are looking for a good light for your Glock, then look no further. This light is tough, and very light. When mounted on a Glock pistol, you can barely feel a difference in weight versus not having a light. This light is produced by Glock and is constructed of the same polymer as their pistol frames."

This is designed for the Glocks. I use it on both my Glock 17 and 21 with equal utility. Now on Amazon Prime for $79.

Click the image and read the Comments! Great stuff.

There are brighter lights but I feel like this is perfect for the job!

--Works great with suppressors in the dark...

Range Day

I went to the rang today for a bit of quiet fun.

This is my suppressed Ruger Mark III with the Leapers Red Dot. Got it sighted in and super fun to mag dump at 25 yards.

It is so quiet.

People always ask what it is. You basically only hear the action cycle.

-Fun Fun Fun...

Range Weekend

It's a range weekend!

A crew of friends will be going and shooting .22 rifles.

I will be taking in my Ruger 10/22 with Integral Suppressor. I call her Squirrelsbane.

I will be cutting into my stockpile of ammo for this range run. .22LR is still very thin out there.

I am looking into getting the new BX-Trigger for her. I was hoping to handle one before I order one.

I also have a new bipod I am going to try.

--In all, still cheap shooting!

Cleaning the Ruger 10/22

My Ruger 10/22 finally had it's turn on the bench for a full dissemble and cleaning.

I use to do a full strip and clean at least once a year on all my guns but it's been about three years now for this one.

The gun was still shooting well even though it was super filthy. It is a real testament to the Ruger 10/22.

This is the 10/22 from my collection that has the integral suppressor. This my be my very favorite firearm.

--Now I want to take her out and get her dirty...

Happy Friday!

DPMS HBAR
I have been doing more photography recently. I'm really enjoying it.

I think my next photo session will be outside on a nice day. Maybe as early as this weekend!

My new range allows photos in the lanes. I am hoping to get some of people actually shooting there.

I am also enjoying using Photoshop on the images to tune them up to the way I like.

--This image turned out OK but I may have manipulated it a bit too much!
