The best gear is the gear you have with you when you need it.I can't always take my binocs with me, even though i would love to have some. At the Northcoast Blogshoot, fellow blogger TBolt brought out a handy-dandy Monocular. When he told me how modest the price was ($18) I could see no reason not to have one.
I might buy several. No reason every glove compartment should not have one. My range bag needs one. My fanny pack, my bug out bag, even my tactical pants!
