He keeps it in his BOB with the handle heavily wrapped in paracord.
Beyond using it as a regular knife it has a massive amount of addition potential as a spear point or other tools.
Simple tool with lots of applications.

Condor Tools makes something similar in their Bird and Trout Knife.

I have a set in my hunting bag, and I like the idea of moving to my survival bag.
I bought a (now discontinued) CRKT ABC Operator for this exact purpose. I removed the scales and wrapped the handle with paracord. I keep it and a Mora knife in my survival kit.
Oh, that is NICE... Gotta add a couple to the BOB...
You might look at ESEE AH-1 Arrowhead. Neat little knife that has a good following in the "survival" community.
