I grew up in Western NY. I still have many friends that live there.
The exodus has begun. The last straw has broken the camels back.
The job market was already bad. The taxes were already grossly high. And now Governor Cuomo makes it a felony to own a Ruger 10/22. Multiple people I know are listing their houses for sale.
I recommend everyone send money to the Second Amendment Foundation, or even the NRA.

I've offered Sanctuary to a Mutual Friend of ours. He and the Missus can stay with us as long as they need.
YOU might want to see how much space you have for the Maryland/Delaware/DC members of the "Family," at least as far as Safe Storage of their "Formerly Legal Firearms" if their VolksRepubliks go "New York Nuts" on them.
