It's Potty Time

Dramatic Re-enactment
Last week at work, a gun was turned in to lost and found. I was glad that it wasn't treated as a very big deal.

Apparently one of the security guards left it on top of the toilet paper holder while he was taking a dump (along with the comics).

It got me thinking about my various safe handling procedures I use in this situation. For me it all depends on what holster and firearm I have.

Shoulder holsters are no issue at all. No prob.

If I am wearing my heavy belt and one of several holsters that have double connections, it's also no problem.

I have several, inside the waistband, holsters that have a single clip and could turn over and topple out if I am not careful. These holsters I may actually take out first. I just hold them while takin care of business.

--I have never come close to leaving a gun behind. Cell phones is another story...

  1. Put it in the crotch of your underwear while you take care of things. You can't forget it that way.

  3. This seems to be a recurring problem, especially involving the constabulary. Many of their adventures make the news. NJT has the original solution. I remember first seeing that in some gun mag in the 70's. How someone could forget a lethal device escapes me.

  4. I am hoping my fanatical attention to cellphone retention in the littlest room will carry over to carried firearms, if and when.
