Sons of Guns showcases one of America's most skilled and creative gun works, Red Jacket Firearms, and its founder, Will Hayden. While pursuing its bread-and-butter work with customizing and improving AK-47's, the Baton Rouge-based team delves into the world of historic and classic weapons. Cannons, M2s, even coffee grinding muskets.
Another good reason to watch is Stephanie Hayden, Will's Daughter / Red Jacket Partner and Business Manager, Stephanie Hayden grew up learning about hunting and the outdoors from her dad Will. For her 18th birthday, Will made her his partner and the business manager for Red Jacket. I love watching her surprise customers with her knowledge of firearms. Now 25, she is known as the brains behind the Red Jacket operation. Brains are sooo Hott!

Its good that she knows her way around firearms and has brains, but her hot is not doing it for me.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first episode of this show and decided it wasn't for me. If I want to watch drama in a machine shop, I'll go back to American Chopper (is that still on?).
For that first episode, there just wasn't enough substance to keep me interested. I'd rather know how that shotgun suppressor worked than see Stephanie roll her eyes at her father.
But that's just me. Its good that you like the show... the more gun shows the better.
What I really like is that they depict the guns just like Choppers. Not a big deal. As tools, as recreation, as no big deal...
ReplyDeleteHere is an interview she did before the show aired:

Shows like this and Top Shot are really mainstreaming a positive, realistic, image of the gun culture.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a bad show, but I miss Mail Call and Lock & Load with R. Lee Ermey. Those were much better shows on military weapons.
ReplyDeleteMy wife loved Mail Call. Me too.
ReplyDeleteI like this show too, and I agree with Karen that there aren't many positive depictions of gun culture. I got hooked on this show a few months ago when I was at a friends house. It's a good thing I work for Dish Network because I was able to set my DVR at home to record the show. I have even streamed it straight to my phone a few times because I didn't want to miss it. I hope the projects keep getting more and more interesting. I want to see what they can really do.
ReplyDeletei think the show is great. i have watched every episode from the shot gun suppressor to the twin m16's. i love the show and always will. plus the perk of seeing stephanie
