With a very large revolver like that, using a very high powered round, yeah it would hurt and year it would screw up a thumb, maybe even sever it or at least break the bone. Yet, saying that the so called 'chicken hand' test confirmed that the cylinder gap blast could severe a thumb is ludicrous at best.
