Random Tuesday

I just got back from a trip to my home town just outside Buffalo NY.

Had to go unarmed. I hate that feeling. It has to be the same feeling some woman get when they suddenly realize they don't have their purse.

I will be signing books and chatting with readers again!

  • When: Thursday October 1st, 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
  • Where: Hylton Performing Arts Center (10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, VA)
  • Who: Me and about 150 other authors! I'll be the guy in the Hawaiian Shirt!
  • Why: The Broken Cage was just released on Sept 2nd!
Check out the Fall for the Book website for details and events for the entire week!

--I need to get back to the range soon. My son went without me this weekend!

Lots of Godwin This Week

Washington DC and Baltimore are out of control with violence recently. There is a ton of "Lives Matter" arguments happening.

"Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies) is an adage formulated by Mike Godwin in 1990. "

The law states: "As an Inernet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."

"Godwin's Law is often cited in online discussions as a caution against the use of inflammatory rhetoric or exaggerated comparisons, and is often conflated with fallacious arguments of the reductio ad Hitlerum form."

Often in the gun ownership debate gun control advocates rapidly descend to invoking Hitler or the Nazi's. To me this has always signaled winning the debate. The Hitler card is usually played when logic won't help, or worse, when logic is against them.

--I find it also very amusing when they invoke Hitler but most don't know that Hitler and the Nazi's were huge gun control advocates.

September 11th

Today I will do what I do every year on September 11th.

I will enjoy bacon, bourbon and pretty women in tiny dresses.

I will go to the range and make holes in targets.

Because I am free.

--Be safe out there.

Photography

He wants something like this.
Over the holiday weekend I was hanging out with my brother and he  decided we were going to make a fake action movie poster.

Basically we are going to photoshop him onto some exploding car image we can find from somewhere.

He is so funny. He wanted to look like a bad ass. He bought a leather trench coat at Salvation Army along with some shades.

It was hilarious. I felt like kids. I will post it when its finished.

--He is 62.

Gun Murders Down 49% Since 1993

The media wants you to think that gun murder is on the rise, worse than ever.

The reality is that gun ownership has skyrocketed since 1993. Concealed carry laws has swept the country.

The detailed study published by the Pew Research Center shows that contrary to popular belief, America is no longer the Wild West. Since 1993, gun homicides have decreased by 49%, and general violent crime has dipped by an incredible 75%.
